Inov8 Modrocs my new favorite short course trail runners.

October 1st, 2006 · No Comments

mudroc290I finally got to race in my Inov8 Mudroc 290’s last weekend in the Grouse Mountain Run and they did not disappoint. For several months I would check the running stores for these shoes but to now avail. I was suprised one day when I was in North Shore Athletics and they were carrying the Inov8 line.

Invo8 has been around for several years and are very popular with the thouroughbred european mountain and fell runners but are just catching on here. Jonathan Wyatt has one many a mountain run with a pair of Mudrocs so I figured they are probably good enough for me :) .

The thing I love about the Mudrocs is the fact they are a very low profile, light weight shoe (without sacrificing durability), with a snug fit, they feel almost like a racing flat with an agressive tred. This makes them perfect perfect for short course technical trail races or uphill mountain run races. I highly recommend these shoes to any runner who wants to add a speedy pair of trail runners to their arsenal. Inov8 also has a Mudroc 280 which is slightly lighter for the gram counters but probably slightly less durable. I am looking forward to trying out the new f-lite 250’s which look even speedier I think they would be the perfect shoe for the Seek the Peak Mountain Run.
