The Scotsman has a cool article on mountain running or fell running in Scotland. I am hoping to make a trip to the UK this summer and do a “fell race” they sound very cool.
hill running - or fell running, as it is also known - is attracting a growing number of dedicated followers. And Scotland, which boasts 284 Munros and countless other mountain peaks, is the perfect terrain in which to pursue the sport. “Most people turn to hill running as a continuation of road running because they are bored with training on hard surfaces, or because they are hillwalkers who want to up the pace a bit,” says Russell McKechnie, president of the Highland Hill Runners Club.
