Cool article on the Parksville news site promoting the first snowshoe race in the Yeti Snowshoe Racing series. I am planning on doing the series and it seems like a lot of elite athletes plan on doing them as well:
Last year the Yeti became the largest snowshoe race to ever happen in Canada with more than 150 people on the start line at the final race at Cypress Mountain in the Lower Mainland.
This year the Yeti is expecting even more growth as people are finally catching on that this is the ultimate cross train in the off-season. Pro athletes like three-time world Ironman champion Peter Reid, world class mountain biker Andreas Hestler and Olympic mountain biker Kiara Bisaro are all on the snowshoe running program, they say they love the change up.
