Cranmore Hill Climb course modified to miminc this years WMRA Championships

June 21st, 2007 by Scott · No Comments

Well it looks like the 2007 Cranmore Hill Climb is going to be quite the torture test this year with some steep downhill added. From the New England Runner:

The Cranmore Hill Climb turns 20 this year. More importantly, the race serves as one of three official qualifying events for the U.S. Mountain Running Team. The top two men and top woman finisher will automatically qualify. This year, Cranmore also serves as the 4th annual USA Mountain Running Championships.

Another important aspect of the 2007 Cranmore Hill Climb is the fact that the course has been changed to mimic the World Trophy course, which will decide the World Mountain Running Champions in Switzerland this September.

Instead of a simple hill climb, the course demands ascending and descending the steep, 4.2-kilometer hill. The men will run three laps and the women two.
